here are some impressions from the preterite & tape measure kid sets at this year’s fête de la musique in berlin:
here is a nice little live video of a short solo set recorded in late winter 2015 at handstand & moral in leipzig, germany. big thanks to andi from hidden structures & his crew for having me & being such great hosts.
i’m playing a solo show in berlin on friday, may 17th, at antje øklesund.
the line-up is sweet, the venue is lovely, the PA is all “pro gear/pro attitude” & the folks organising the whole deal are very charming.
& i get to do whatever i feel like when i get behind my kit.
can’t ask for more than that.
i would be delighted if the one or other of you berliners should choose to come out & support holzmund & share the evening with me.
it’s easy to get to in friedrichshain, i’m on first at eleven, should cost 5€ before eleven & 7-10€ (you decide) after that.
a short story i wrote a while back & posted below has been published by revolver publishing in a book entitled “industrial on tour”, avaliable here.
“industrial on tour” details hartware medienkunstverein’s 2011 tour of poland (for which i supplied the musical support) & also features contributions from inke arns, joanna erbel, michal libera, daniel muzyczuk & thibaut de ruyter.
the story, “there is no such thing as a statue,” is an oblique take on my tour experiences, & was inspired by a rumor that i heard in gdansk, regarding a statue of margaret thatcher that is purportedly planned for the solidarity museum currently under construction there.
you can also read it here if you like.
a rusty vibraphone quickly becomes a forlorn flock of emo seagulls in this dense little live excerpt from a concert in boulder’s atlas theater, recorded by michael theodore on april 10th, 2010. a big thanks to michael & his crew for a wonderful day. enjoy!
more exclusive shit!
more exclusive polish shit!
bardziej ekskluzywne polskie gówno!
these two tracks were made to accompany the book, mentioned in the previous post, documenting my 2011 tour of poland with hartware medienkunstverein. the first track is a sort of medley of live recordings from the concerts & some field recordings of dear friends & total strangers. the main speaker is michal libera. the second track is a kind of free techno jam that i recorded in the museum in the train station in turnow, warming up before my show. i edited it to incorporate field recordings from the van & my walks.
dedicated with much love to inke arns, thibaut de ruyter, daniel muzyczuk & michal libera & to all our wonderful hosts & guides in poland: you were beautiful.
in poland for two weeks on tour with the good folks of hartware medienkunstverein. got here saturday, been quite a whirl so far. i have yet to see a man screw in a lightbulb by himself, jesus christ. but when i do i will make sure to get a picture. i keeed! what a fucking interesting place full of very generous people who have done everything in their power to make us smarter. first show tomorrow on my damn birthday, in gdansk (aka danzig!). i have been forewarned that the acoustics are shitty & there’s a bar in the room. should feel right at home 😉 i will give them my best eksperymentalnego muzyka from this belts of rust from germany, yes? anyways, i will try to post some impressions here over the next weeks if i get a minute.
hello, is it, yes?
i am very excited to confirm that i get to open for my favorite monome-freakin’ manic electrodandy, ninjatune artist daedelus, this wednesday, september 21st at sommerloch in wuppertal.
i’m on at nine p.m., daedelus is on at ten.
dude’s live sets have been a big influence on the development of my freehop thing over the years & i am very very excited to get to play for him.
